hey GUYS…
hav u ever faced this problem…when u double click on any one of your pc’s drive, it shows an “open wid window” n doesnot open in the appropriate manner…so follow the steps to solve this problem
make sure the folder settings:
if you still facing the problem then you need to follow these steps
wat???….u still facing…try this
Second Method:
1. Open Start >> Run and type regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Directory/Shell
3. Double click the default key type none and press ok.
4. now navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Drive/Shell.
5. Double click the default key type none and press ok.
comon man this is heights…try this now
Third Method:
If you don’t want to play with the registry ,you can run the following command instead at
Run Prompt: ( Open Start >> Run )
“reg add hkcr\drive\shell /ve /d none /f” (without double quotes)

hey it worked yaar i remembered what sud be done with drive but i had completely forgotten about the directory. tks yaar I was trying to solve a problem created by a virus called “pornovid” when my drive hesitated to open so i navigated folder option>file types>drive and changed “open with”. i added open and made exploler to open it and since then the problem had started.
but tks to u, u solved my problem

I have done whatever you have given the solutions. I followed each and every steps. But still its now working. somewhere i read its a virus. Now no idea how I will solve this problem.

I have followed each steps u had provided. But they are all in vain. Donno what to do. May be this is a virus. So just scanning. Lets see what happens.:(
